IIT Madras will have its campus in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
IIT Zanzibar will open its doors in October 2023 with a batch of 50 undergraduate students and 20 master’s students. For the first year, the institution will offer data science and artificial intelligence courses. Zanzibar will be one of three campuses outside of India, with the others located in Abu Dhabi and Kuala Lumpur.
The establishment of IIT in Tanzania marks a significant step in strengthening the ties between India and Africa. It reflects India’s growing interest in the African continent and its commitment to promoting education and human resource development in Africa.
IIT Delhi Goes Global, Set To Open Campus In Abu Dhabi.
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, is planning to establish a campus in Abu Dhabi.
An agreement was signed between India's Ministry of Education and the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Saturday (15 July).
The institute is planning to offer short courses and executive programmes for the industry in the near future. It has announced that starting in 2024, degrees will be offered at IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi.
